The new iPhone 4s
If you saw our review a few weeks ago then you’ll know just how in love with this gadget I am. Without a doubt, this is the best smart phone on the market with all the usual iPhone features and a few improvements. The phone comes with iOS 5 which gives you a command centre where you can read your messages, sync-able calendar, and the iCloud where you can back-up your phone without ever having to plug it in to your computer. The phone also includes new features such as a voice activated assistant (Siri), an improved 8 megapixel camera, and longer battery life. This phone should be at the top of every Christmas list this year. Available from Carphone Warehouse. The new Amazon Kindle
This year the Kindle revolutionised reading, opening it up to more people than ever before. To meet this demand Amazon have brought out a newer edition of their e-reader and oh my isn’t it beautiful? Weighing less than 70 grams (30% less than the previous offering), small enough to fit into your pocket, and wi-fi enabled so that you can buy books on the move; this gadget is a beauty. The battery life is around a month (perfect for holidays), and the pages are fitted with a special E Ink display to make the screen resemble a piece of paper – no more glare on a sunny day! Perfect for the daily commute or for going travelling. The best thing of all? It costs just £89. Find out more >>Apple iPad 2
If you love the features of the iPhone 4s but prefer your phones to stay simple for you know, phoning people, then check out the iPad2. This comes with so many of the same features but in a bigger tablet form – perfect for browsing the net at home if you have a chunky laptop. Thin, light, but powerful. This comes with 10 hours of battery life enabling you to play with your apps for longer, two cameras for face time (so that you can video call people and actually see them whilst you are talking), iOS 5 and iCloud, video recording and HD playback…need I go on? I love this tablet! Check it out at Apple.
Kinect for the X Box 360
I have to admit I’m not much of a gamer. Put me in front of a football game and I’ll run around the pitch in circles whilst the other team score goal after goal. Kinect for the X Box 360 is a console that I can get on with though. You need to own the 360 for the add on to work, but when you’ve got it set-up this is great fun. The motion sensor detects when you move and copies these actions into whatever game you are playing – meaning there is no more need for controllers with confusing buttons. Hooray! What I love most about this is that you can actually buy particular games to help you lose weight whilst having fun. That definitely beats the gym! (Although my gym got a great new machine the other day. It has everything… Mars Bars, Kit Kats, Snickers…) Kinect for X Box 360 is available from stores such as Play.comNikon 1 J1 Compact Camera System
No top 10 gadget list would be complete without a camera and my photography enthusiast boyfriend tells me that this is one of the best on the market for non-professionals. This has all the clarity and specifications of some semi-professional cameras but with added portability meaning that you can discretely pop it into your bag and not have to worry about it. With interchangeable lenses, HD movie shooting functions, autofocus and rapid fast shooting speed, this is my dream camera. Snap one upghd IV Mark 4 Hair Straighteners
I love my ghds, no other straighteners leave my hair looking as straight and glossy as they do and the Mark 4 is the best yet. With improved temperature control and a rounder barrel, styling your hair is even easier than before. Curls, flicks, waves; whatever you want this gadget will help you get it. With the sleeper mode the straighteners will switch off after 30 minutes of being left unattended too – perfect for if you are safety paranoid like me. I think every girl should own a pair.Garmin Nuvi 1340 Widescreen Sat Nav with UK & Western Europe
This great little Sat-Nav is one of the best I’ve come across. Small enough for popping into your bag and with detailed street mapping, you’ll struggle to get lost. This will not only alert you to upcoming speed traps, but it’ll even tell you which lane you need to get into on complicated roads! Thank goodness!HoMedics SBM-600H-GB Shiatsu Ultimate Back and Shoulder Massager
I have one of these at home and it is possibly the best present I’ve ever received. Fantastic for at the end of a long day. Programmable to do ‘finger massages’ for those harder to reach areas, with three pre-set functions and a demo which samples each; this will unwind all those sore spots. It even comes with a heat function for soothing relief. Sigh…Babyliss Foot Spa
Perfect for after a long day at work (or shopping) this will gently relax tired feet by softly massaging them and rejuvenating sore skin through the use of warm water and bubbles. So relaxing you may just lose a few hours. More info >>Morphy Richards 47070 Programmable Coffee Maker Stainless Steel
