It sounds so wrong; bows or flowers combined with flames – and yet this combination has made Prada’s flame shoes the ones to watch this season. The eclectic fusion brings together two of Spring/Summer ’12′s biggest trends: the ultra feminine and the continuation of the masculine attitude expressed in the androgynous style last season.
Just like Autumn/Winter ’11/’12′s Mui Mui glitter boots we should expect to see replicas of these shoes hitting the High Street very soon. Keep an eye out at TopShop in particular as they were so quick off the mark bringing out their own version of the Mui Mui boots last season.
The flame shoes were part of a 50s inspired show by Prada and evoked images of ‘Grease’, T-Birds, and the Pink Ladies so styling these with a beautiful knee length print dress (ideally with a billowing skirt but I’m open to other suggestions) seems to be the natural choice.
The shoes come in a variety of different colours; pink and green for those days when you want to express your femininity, green and yellow with killer pins heels and bows for when you want to turn heads, and a daring red and black platform design for the most daring of fashionistas.
My favourite pair have to be the red and black – the attitude coming off of these shoes is palpable. You really can’t go too wrong with these. For maximum impact I’d even be tempted to wear them with a leather jacket and daring skirt. (is anyone else thinking thigh split?)
The shoes aren’t available to buy yet but keep an eye on the website HERE.
