What on Earth happened in Austria over New Years?
Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding was taken to an exclusive hospital near Innsbruck in the early hours of New Years Day with unspecified injuries after an altercation with her boyfriend. She was was later spotted arriving at her Buckinghamshire home early with a bandage around her hand and a heavily made up face.
Witnesses at the holiday resort reported hearing loud arguing and screaming coming from the room that Sarah was sharing with her now ex-boyfriend Theo De Vries and called the police. When they arrived Sarah was taken to hospital and Theo was arrested and later released.
The story so far has been confirmed by a police report and witness statements; however this morning The Sun newspaper has featured an interview with Theo where he alleges that Sarah beat him, and that contrary to reports circulating in the media, he didn’t lay a finger on her.
Coupled with the interview are photographs of bite marks on Theo’s legs and a nasty looking black eye.
Both parties are insisting that they acted in self-defence and are accusing each other of starting the fight.
Sarah had a troubled 2011 in which she broke up with her fiancé Tom Crane and attended a rehab centre for help with depression and an alcohol dependency. Not much is known about Theo other than that he is a Dutch businessman and that the couple had been together for 3 months prior to New Years Day.
Now the couple are accusing each other of domestic violence and threatening to press charges.
This could be a story that rumbles on for a while…
