My favourite act on the show (and it seems most of you agreed with me!), Little Mix, won the X Factor crown last night taking the majority of the public votes over runner up Marcus Collins.

The girls stole the show last night with their fantastic harmonies and soulful singing but the band, made up of members Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirwall, originally auditioned as solo singers before being brought together by the judging panel who thought they had potential as a girl group. Seems they were right!

After winning just hours ago the girls appeared on ITV’s Daybreak this morning to talk about their win and publicise their new single ‘Cannonball’, a cover version originally performed by Damien Rice. They excitedly told host Kate Garraway that the news hadn’t yet sunk in and that they were looking forward to the future.

Last night also provided some…interesting…fashion moments as judge Tulisa was ridiculed for needing Louis Walsh’s help walking and sitting in her Royal blue fishtail dress and Little Mix’s Jesy raised a few eyebrows with her gold leggings which were paired with a shirt that was maybe a little too short. Fashion highlights included Leigh-Anne’s beautiful ivory layered mini dress with gold shoulder embellishment.

Little Mix have now made X Factor history for becoming the first girl band ever to win the show and are set to make millions with their new record deal and popularity.

Well done girls and commiserations to Marcus who I’m sure we won’t see the last of.
