Well it sounds as if Father Christmas may well have teamed up with Cupid this year as it seems as though a lot of very lucky ladies were finding diamond engagement rings wrapped under their trees on Christmas Day.
Strictly Come Dancing star Holly Valance was the first to announce her Christmas engagement, tweeting a photo of her fiancé Nick Candy’s romantic beach proposal on the 22nd. A few days early maybe but I’m impressed by his proposal – spelling out the words in fire on the beach? Very romantic.
Matthew McConaughey also popped the question to his long-term girlfriend and mother of his two children, Brazilian model Camila Alves on Christmas Day. The actor broke the news to his fans on Twitter straight away.
Also tying the knot are musician John Legend and his model girlfriend of four years Chrissy Teigen. The entertainer is believed to have popped the question during a holiday to the Maldives – sun, sea, & diamonds? Jealous? Me?
Rumour has it that rock legend Steve Tyler may have proposed to his girlfriend of five years too after she was spotted wearing a sparkler on her ring finger over the Christmas weekend. No official announcement has been made so far.
And although they are already married it is rumoured that Kate Middleton also found diamonds in her stocking on Christmas morning in the form of a beautiful pair of Kiki McDonough earrings worth £1900 from her husband Prince William.
