After a difficult few months in which award winning singer Adele suffered a haemorrhaged vocal chord forcing her to undergo surgery, the pop star has tweeted a picture of herself looking well on her Twitter account.

The singer was forced to fly to America last month for emergency microsurgery in order to fix a recurring bleeding polyp and had to cancel the rest of her 2011 tour dates as a result.

At the time of the surgery reports suggested that the risks included permanent damage to the vocal chords, meaning that she may lose the voice that has made her a worldwide star with a personal fortune of millions. The singer was said to be terrified that she would suffer the same fate as Julie Andrews who lost her voice after vocal chord surgery.

The operation seems to have gone well though because not only is Adele back on the publicity trail, she is also rumoured to have started her vocal training again.

Hooray!

In a blog post on her website Adele posted a message of thanks towards her fans for their support,

“Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I’m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I’m just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors.”

The ‘Someone Like You’ singer has also been nominated for a string of awards whilst unwell, including SIX Grammy Awards.

Not bad going!
